On the occasion of the Erasmus Days 2025, FICUS ETS and the Department of Physics and Chemistry “Emilio Segrè” of the University of Palermo are organizing “ReWear If You Care”, an online event dedicated to exploring how innovation, creativity, and environmental awareness can transform fashion into an opportunity for sustainable change.
The initiative is part of the STITCH – Sustainability Through Innovation, Training, Creativity & STEAM Horizons project (project number 2025-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000353351), supported by Erasmus+ KA220 – School Sector.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Microsoft Teams. It will be an opportunity to delve into various aspects of sustainable fashion — from the use of innovative technologies to the creative design of eco-friendly products, and from the development of digital skills to the promotion of environmental awareness among students.
During the session, participants will explore sustainable fashion workshops, the use of 3D printing and innovative textile technologies, as well as the creation of digital content and eco-friendly projects. The “4Rs Ambassador” program will also be presented — a pathway designed for students who wish to become active promoters of sustainability in the fashion industry.
The meeting will also feature first-hand accounts from two Sicilian organizations actively working in the fields of ethical and circular fashion. The Social Cooperative Al Revés, with its project Sartoria Sociale, will share its experience in combining social inclusion, vocational training, and creativity applied to textiles — showing how to give new life to materials while supporting local communities.
Meanwhile, Chi Semina Raccoglie, based in the Madonie area, will present its innovative approach to sustainability through the creation of jewelry made from seeds and natural waste materials. Their work highlights how craftsmanship and the reuse of natural resources can drive both local development and social innovation.
This event is an opportunity for students, enthusiasts, and professionals to better understand the potential of sustainable fashion, discover innovative technological tools, and reflect on the role of creativity in promoting responsible practices.
