FICUS ETS and the National Sustainable Development Strategy: A Commitment to Our Country’s Future

FICUS ETS is proud to be part of the National Forum for Sustainable Development, a platform promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) that engages civil society in the journey towards sustainable and responsible development.

At the heart of this journey is the National Sustainable Development Strategy (SNSvS), the guiding document that defines priorities and lines of action to steer the country towards development that is environmentally respectful, socially inclusive, and economically sustainable.

The Strategy originates from the UN’s 2030 Agenda and is based on an integrated approach that balances and synergizes the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of development. It serves as the framework for all public policies and for the active involvement of citizens, businesses, institutions, and associations.

Some of the pillars on which the SNSvS is founded align with the values and goals of FICUS ETS, and are expressed in four fundamental areas:

  • Planet: protection of the environment and natural resources, combating climate change, and promoting the circular economy;
  • People: promotion of social inclusion, health, quality of life, and rights for all;
  • Culture for Sustainability: spreading a shared culture that fosters awareness and sustainable change in behaviors and daily choices;
  • Youth for Sustainability: active involvement of younger generations as drivers of change.

FICUS ETS is committed with passion and expertise to contributing concretely to the implementation of the Strategy, collaborating within the National Forum and making its resources available to support monitoring, updating, and promoting sustainability at all levels.

We are excited to be part of this vast network of stakeholders dedicated to building a fairer, more equitable, and sustainable future, and we look forward to working alongside all Forum partners to make a difference in our country.
