FICUS ETS Continues the Local Activities of the Erasmus+ Project “Dancing with STEAM” in Sicily

FICUS ETS continues the implementation of the local activities of the Erasmus+ project Dancing with STEAM in Sicily, involving new groups of young participants in educational pathways combining creativity, movement, digital experimentation and STEAM education.

After the first local workshop cycle, the activities have now entered a new phase focused on the development of digital competences and creative learning methodologies. So far, around 25 young participants from Palermo and nearby areas have already taken part in the workshops organised by FICUS ETS within the framework of the project.

The first phase of the workshops focused on embodied learning methodologies, allowing participants to explore STEAM subjects through theatre, movement, storytelling and collaborative artistic activities. Through non-formal educational approaches, participants were encouraged to transform scientific and creative concepts into performative experiences, strengthening communication, teamwork and self-expression skills.

The current phase of the activities is instead dedicated to the digital transposition of the first STEAM modules developed during the workshops. Participants are experimenting with different digital tools and creative technologies to transform movement, artistic expression and storytelling into digital experiences and multimedia content.

This process allows young people to improve their digital competences while exploring new forms of creativity connected to technology and innovation. During the workshops, participants are testing digital platforms, collaborative tools and creative applications, learning how technology can support imagination, artistic production and group collaboration.

At the moment, three complete modules have already been developed through the local activities, combining embodied learning methodologies with digital creativity and collaborative experimentation.

The workshops are facilitated by youth worker/trici who previously participated in the international training activities of the project and are now transferring the acquired methodologies to local young participants in Sicily.

The local activities will continue over the coming months with the objective of involving around 60 young people across Sicily and promoting innovative educational practices connecting STEAM education, creativity and digital inclusion.

The activities are part of the Erasmus+ project “Dancing with STEAM” (Project Number: 2025-1-FR02-KA210-YOU-000349743), co-funded by the European Union.
