Over 90 Schools Worldwide Join the First STITCH Project Webinar

The first webinar of the STITCH project (project number 2025-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000353351), co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ KA220 SCH Cooperation Partnerships programme, brought together over 90 school representatives from across the world.

The event, organised by the University of Palermo – Department of Physics and Chemistry “Emilio Segrè”, project coordinator, marked an important starting point for the project and an opportunity to share its educational vision, highlighting the growing need to rethink education through sustainable, interdisciplinary and competence-based approaches.

In this context, STITCH promotes an innovative STEAM-based methodology aimed at transforming sustainability into a concrete and measurable learning pathway within secondary education.

During the webinar, participants explored how sustainable fashion and fashion design can serve as effective educational tools to connect science, creativity and responsible consumption. These approaches enable students to engage with real-world challenges while developing key transversal skills and environmental awareness.

Special attention was given to design-based learning processes, which support the analysis of materials, the understanding of environmental impact and reflection on innovation, making learning more experiential, practical and future-oriented.

The high level of participation and interaction demonstrated a strong interest from the education sector in adopting practical, transferable and impactful teaching models.

The next webinar will take place on April 29th at 16:00 CET and will be organised by FICUS ETS. Further details and registration information will be shared soon through the project’s official channels.

This webinar represents just the beginning of a broader journey. In the coming months, the STITCH project will continue to develop and test an innovative educational model to support schools in integrating sustainability into their learning pathways.
