What can happen when schools, environmental organizations and local authorities work together? The final STITCH webinar will explore how these partnerships can turn sustainability into shared, practical action—and help schools become active drivers of change in their communities.
On Tuesday, 10 November 2026, at 16:00 CET, FICUS ETS invites teachers, school staff and everyone interested in education and sustainability to join “Green Alliances: How School–Organization Partnerships Drive Change.”
The webinar will present a real model of collaboration between a school, an environmental organization and a municipality, focused on urban sustainability. It will show how cooperation can connect classroom learning with the needs of the local area, giving students opportunities to engage with environmental challenges and take part in meaningful action.
When education meets ecological action
Sustainability becomes more powerful when it is experienced, shared and put into practice. By building relationships with organizations and public authorities, schools can open their doors to the community and create learning opportunities rooted in the world around them.
The webinar will explore how these partnerships can support the ecological transition at local level, strengthen ties between schools and their communities, and bring environmental action into everyday teaching. It will also consider how sustainable fashion and STEAM approaches can help students connect scientific thinking, creativity, digital literacy and civic responsibility.
Meet the speakers
The conversation will be moderated by Gemma Hijano, a teacher at the school.
Joining her are:
- Elisabet García, Green School and Sustainability Coordinator, who will share her experience of embedding sustainability in school life.
- Guillem Dávila, environmental educator and communicator at Bosc de Llum, a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education, biodiversity conservation and science communication.
Together, they will offer perspectives on what schools and community organizations can achieve when they work side by side—and how local partnerships can help turn shared concern into collective action.
The final event in a seven-country webinar series
This webinar marks the conclusion of the STITCH series, with one event hosted in each partner country. The previous webinars have brought together more than 300 teachers and other school staff, creating a space to exchange ideas and explore ways to make sustainability an active part of education.
Now, the series closes with a timely invitation: to look beyond the classroom, build meaningful alliances and create more opportunities for young people to learn through action.
