How can local associations face the administrative, organisational and project-related challenges that increasingly affect the Third Sector today? And above all, how can common needs be transformed into concrete collaborations capable of creating real impact within the community?
These questions inspired the first workshop promoted by the “Un’ora per Palermo” network, an initiative coordinated by FICUS ETS which, on Saturday 16 May, brought together associations, local organisations and active citizens at Villa Castelnuovo for a moment of discussion dedicated to strengthening the local associative network.
Hosted in the meeting room of Associazione L’Agrumeto, the workshop was conceived as a space for practical training and dialogue among organisations working daily within the Palermo area. The event represented not only an opportunity to explore essential operational tools for associations, but also a moment to share experiences, challenges and ideas for the future.
During the workshop, participants discussed key topics for the Third Sector, including registration procedures for RUNTS, access to and management of the Italian “5×1000” tax allocation scheme, and opportunities related to project development and associative activities. Particular attention was also dedicated to local support tools such as sports vouchers and procedures for the allocation of municipal and metropolitan school gyms.
Beyond the technical aspects, the workshop mainly became a moment of dialogue and reflection on the concrete challenges faced daily by many organisations: economic sustainability, access to opportunities, management of spaces, youth engagement and the need to build stronger and more stable territorial collaborations.
A dedicated part of the meeting also focused on the creation of joint summer initiatives, encouraging exchanges among associations from different sectors but united by the common goal of building new synergies for the territory.
One of the most meaningful elements of the event was the collaborative atmosphere created among participants, transforming the workshop into a real opportunity for networking and active participation.
During the event, Councillor Lawyer Canto also joined the discussion with the participating associations. The “Un’ora per Palermo” network would like to thank him for his participation and attention towards local organisations and community initiatives.
The initiative represents the first step of a broader path promoted by the “Un’ora per Palermo” network, created to connect associations, citizens and local stakeholders while promoting participation, collaboration and shared territorial development.
